Graphic Art – Mural
Everything is on track for the mural. Craig Chmidling (parent & artist) helped serve as a consultant and a designer as we worked through the design of the mural. A list of donors will be in next week’s bulletin asking for corrections, additions, etc. It will be finalized by 15 July and at the sign company for print and install. Saved approx. $2000. on the mural so we are purchasing a flat screen to hang across the hall (next to the office) to run announcements, special events, etc.
Chapel
- We have 30 existing chairs that we purchased from the public schools with the chapel in mind. I worked with a Hollis & Miller designer and have ordered 20 slightly larger chairs that match the ones we already have. We are ordering the new chairs with a fabric that coordinates with the carpet and ordering extra material to recover the existing chairs.
- Total cost including shipping $3204. cost savings of $4500. by already having 30 chairs. I will have volunteers recover existing chairs.
- An altar, tabernacle stand, tabernacle, ambo and chair still need to be ordered. I am meeting with the same cabinet maker that made the Imac chapel altar, etc. tomorrow but I would like to speak with our priests Father David and Father Phil to get their input.
Library
- A change order needed to be made for some additional electrical to accommodate 30 computers.
- Hollis – Miller’s designer is helping me shop for some affordable library tables and adjustable chairs so we can accommodate all age groups.
- Mrs. Thiele purchased a 47” flat screen with her wish list money and it will be installed on the wall in the library.
- 30 laptops and a cart were posted for sale from St. Michael’s in Overland park. I was the successful bidder and was able to purchase them for $6000. all of which we had title I money to cover the cost!!
- 3 – Smart Boards were also ordered with Cindi’s guidance and with Title I money. One will be placed in the library and the other two will go in the Spanish and Music Room.
