Frequently Asked Questions

When will the new Xavier Elementary school open?

The new Xavier Elementary will open for the start of the 2011-2012 school year.  Kindergarten through 8th grades will begin classes in the converted Muncie school building in August 2011.

When will renovations to the former Muncie school property begin?

Renovations are slated to begin in spring 2011. The timing and scope of the renovations will largely depend upon the amount of funds raised during the For the Next 150 Years capital campaign. Per Archdiocesan policy, a project cannot move forward until 50% of the total project costs are in hand. LRCS will proceed with renovations as the necessary funding is acquired.

When the new Xavier Elementary School opens, what will happen to the current parish school buildings?

Each parish will assume responsibility for the school building(s) on its campus and ultimately decide how each facility is used. LRCS will collaborate with pastors and parish leadership through the transition, working toward the best solution for each property.

How many students are currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grades at LRCS?

Currently, LRCS has 265 students enrolled from Kindergarten through 8th grades.  The new Xavier Elementary future plans allow for growth with enrollment capabilities of 410 students.

What are the future plans for Immaculata High School?

Significant upgrades to Immaculata High School are part of the master plan that has been developed by LRCS. Before that happens, it is imperative that Xavier Elementary successfully relocate to the Muncie campus. A strong and growing elementary school program will only strengthen the need and support for Immaculata High School.
